PLAYA VISTA, Calif. - Bradley graduate Ralph Lawler, the longtime voice of the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers, will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, according to an announcement by the Walk of Fame Selection Committee Monday.
According to the announcement, the date for the star unveiling is still to be announced. The Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2016 was selected from among hundreds of nominations from motion picture, television, radio, recording and live theater/performance and includes Bradley Cooper, Michael Keaton, Steve Carell, Kurt Russell, Ashley Judd, Rob Lowe, Adam Levine, Bruno Mars and Kevin Hart, among others.
Lawler just completed his 36th season with the Clippers and the three-time LA Emmy Award winning announcer has called more than 2,800 games for the Clippers, making him the third-longest tenured broadcaster in the NBA. His association with the Clippers dates to the franchise's move from Buffalo to San Diego in 1978. Lawler boasts broadcasting experience across the major U.S. professional leagues, having previously announced games for the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers, the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, Major League Baseball's Philadelphia Phillies and the NFL's San Diego Chargers.
