AUSTIN, Texas -- Senior runner Marshall Moyer (Burlington, Iowa/Burlington) became the first Bradley male runner to be recognized as a Capital One Academic All-American, earning third-team honors according to an announcement by the College Sports Information Directors of America Thursday.

A cell & molecular biology major with a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average, Moyer helped highlight one of the most successful season's in program history for the Bradley men's cross country and track & field teams in 2014-15.  Last fall, he finished 35th at the MVC Cross Country Championship to help the Braves match their best conference finish (third) in school history.

He went on to clock a career-best 10K time of 31:11.5 at the NCAA Midwest Regional for the seventh-best time in school history as he finished 68th and helped Bradley to its best regional showing (9th) since 1983.  During the track season, Moyer placed 12th in the 3,000 meters at the MVC Indoor Championship in addition to taking 15th in the 5,000 meters.

A finalist for Bradley's Charles Orsborn Award, Moyer was a First-Team Capital One Academic All-District V selection this year.  He was one of two MVC runners to earn Academic All-American honors, joined on the third-team by Kyle Landon of Southern Illinois.

Moyer's honor, coupled with baseball senior catcher Drew Carlile earning First-Team Capital One Academic All-American honors this spring, gives Bradley two Academic All-Americans in the same school year for the first time since 2011-12.
