AUSTIN, Texas - Bradley senior catcher Drew Carlile (Fort Collins, Colo./Poudre H.S.) become the fourth player in program history to be recognized as a Capital One Academic All-American when he was announced as a member of the 11-player Division I Baseball first team by the College Sports Information Directors of America Thursday.
The starting catcher during Bradley's historic 2015 season, Carlile boasts a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average in Bradley University's intensive accounting 3:2 program, which awards both a bachelor's degree and master's degree upon completion. Carlile joins catcher/first baseman Brad Canada (2004, 2005), pitcher Eitan Barbalat (2007, 2008) and outfielder Grant Escue (2009) as Bradley Baseball Capital One Academic All-Americans, as awarded by CoSIDA.

A second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection, Carlile hit .287 in 43 games and shared the team lead with seven home runs this past season, helping the Braves (36-21) reach the title game of the 2015 MVC Baseball Championship and earn the No. 2 seed for the NCAA Baseball Louisville Regional for the program's first NCAA postseason appearance since 1968.
A transfer from Kellogg C.C., Carlile currently is under consideration for MVC Scholar-Athlete honors. The 2015 MVC Baseball Elite 18 Award recipient received the MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award in 2014 and has earned a spot on the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll in each of his first four semesters on The Hilltop.
