NORMAL, Ill. – Sophomore Ally Scaccia (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) finished in the top 10 for the third time in her last four outings with a second place finish and helped the Bradley women's golf team tie for second overall at the season-opening Redbird Invitational Monday.

The Braves, who entered Monday's round tied for first, posted their best team finish since the fall of 2013 as they tied for second in the 16-team field.  Scaccia was one three Bradley players to finish in the top 10 and earned her third career top-10.

Evansville's Kayla Katterhenry took medalist honors with a three-round total of 220 at the par-72 Weibring Golf Course.  Scaccia fired a 72 in Monday's final round to finish one shot back of Katterhenry in second at 221 for the lowest 54-hole total of her career.

Senior Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) pushed her career sub-80 round total to 83 with a 76 on the last day of play and took seventh overall at 226.  Lemek upped her school career mark for top 10 finishes to 24 and placed in the top 10 for the fifth time in her last six tournaments.

Fellow senior Allison Walsh (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Mt. Prospect) picked up her first top 10 finish in almost two years, closing out play with a 75 to tie for ninth in the field at 228.  Walsh's 228 was the lowest 54-hole total of her career and she became just the 12th player in school history with 40 career sub-80 rounds.

Sophomore Grace Henderson (Peachtree Corners, Ga./Blessed Trinity) finished out the season-opening tournament with an 80 and tied for 53rd overall at 240, while freshman Chloe Horton (Coral Gables, Fla./Ransom Everglades) improved her score for the third consecutive round.  Horton shot a third-round 78 and tied for 57th at 241 to round out Bradley's team scoring.

Freshman Frankie Saban (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) was in the field as an individual and tied Henderson for 53rd at 240 as she shot an 81 Monday.  Also playing as an individual, freshman Sydney Shaw (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) fired a final-round 81.  She tied for 64th overall at 242.

Bowling Green won the team title with a score of 905 to finish eight shots better than Bradley, which shot 301 Monday, and Northern Illinois as the teams tied for second at 913.  Boston College was four shots back in fourth at 917 and Ohio completed the top five at 926.  Tournament-host Illinois State took sixth overall (929), with Valley rival Southern Illinois following in seventh (931).  Butler earned eighth at 937, while Loyola (9th – 939) and Oakland (10th – 948) completed the top 10 in the 16-team field.

Bradley returns to action Saturday and Sunday at the Diane Thomason Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa.
