ST. LOUIS - For the first time in the award's 14-year history, Bradley has earned the 2015-16 Missouri Valley Conference All-Academic Award, according to an announcement from the league office during the MVC Basketball Tip-Off event Tuesday at St. Louis City Center Hotel.

The MVC All-Academic Award is presented annually to the institution that finishes with the best grade point average among its student-athletes that participate in The Valley.

Bradley's 222 student-athletes completed the 2015-16 school year with an athletics department record 3.36 cumulative GPA (4.0 scale) and 196 (88.3 percent) earned a spot on the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll during at least one of the two semesters last year for posting a minimum 3.0 semester GPA.  The Braves boasted eight of the league's 66 student-athletes who earned The Valley's President's Council Academic Excellence Award, which required a minimum 3.8 cumulative GPA through the 2016 Spring semester, participation in athletics a minimum two years and the student-athlete being within 18 hours of graduation.

Of the 172 Bradley student-athletes named to the MVC Honor Roll for posting a minimum 3.2 GPA during the 2015-16 school year, 70 Braves also garnered the Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, which requires a 3.5 minimum GPA for the previous two semesters.

Among the numerous individual academic honors achieved by Bradley's student-athletes throughout the 2015-16 school year, the Braves had 20 first-team MVC Scholar-Athlete selections, six CoSIDA Academic All-District honorees and a pair of CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.
