PEORIA, Ill. -- For the first time in 2016-17 the Bradley women's golf team will play 54-hole tournaments in back-to-back weeks when the Braves travel to Port Clinton, Ohio, for the Rocket Classic Monday and Tuesday at the par-72 Catawba Island Golf Club.

Bradley is making a rare trip to the Buckeye State with the Rocket Classic marking the team's first trip to Ohio since the rain-shortened Bearcat Classic in October 2004 and just the third trip in the last 20 years.

The 14-team tournament gets underway with 8 a.m. (CDT) shotgun starts both Monday and Tuesday.  BradleyBraves.com will provide links to live scoring for all three rounds.

Missouri Valley Conference rivals Indiana State and Loyola help make up the field, which includes Mid-American Conference members Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Toledo and Western Michigan.  Horizon League foes Detroit, Illinois-Chicago and Wisconsin-Green Bay are joined by Bucknell, Eastern Kentucky and IPFW in the event.

Freshman Taylor Ledwein (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) finished sixth at the Missouri Valley Conference Preview earlier this week and has been Bradley's top finisher in each of the last two outings.  Ledwein, who was second among MVC individuals at the MVC Preview, has averaged 73.17 strokes over her last six rounds and owns a 74.67 average in 54-hole events this year.

Junior Ally Scaccia (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) became the eighth player in program history with 50 career sub-80 rounds with a final round 77 at the MVC Preview.  Scaccia has placed in the top 20 in three events this year and is second on the team with a 75.80 stroke average.

Sophomore Frankie Saban (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) has been steady for the Braves this fall with a 77.00 stroke average and fired a career-best 73 in the second round of the MVC Preview.  Fellow sophomore Chloe Horton (Coral Gables, Fla./Ransom Everglades) is one of three Braves to post three top-20 finishes in 2016-17.  Horton's seven sub-80 rounds is one short of her season total from 2015-16.

Bradley will have a week off from competition before closing out the 2016 Fall schedule Oct. 23-25 at the Cardinal Cup in Simpsonville, Ky.
