AUSTIN, TX - Junior defender Clark Emerson (Grand Prairie, TX/Mansfield Lake Ridge H.S.) has become the fifth player in Bradley Soccer history to earn Academic All-America honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America, according to a release of the men's and women's soccer Division I teams announced Tuesday.

Boasting a perfect, 4.00 cumulative grade point average as a finance major, Emerson is a third-team selection on the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America squad.  He joins Dan Thorstenson (1999, 2000); Adam Hage (2005); Todd Reedy (2006, 2007); and Bobby Smith (2011) as Bradley Soccer CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.

Emerson also gives Bradley Athletics at least one CoSIDA Academic All-American for a third consecutive year and a 25th Academic All-American since 1999.

Among his honors this year, Emerson Monday was named a repeat selection to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete first team.  He became eligible for Academic All-America honors after landing on the CoSIDA Academic All-District 5 first team for the second consecutive year.  The finance major has earned a spot on the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll in each of his first four semesters, as well as the 2015 and 2016 MVC Honor Roll.  He also claimed the MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award in his first two years on The Hilltop.
