Game Recap: Men's Basketball |
A balanced attack that featured four players in double figures and six scoring at least nine points led the Bradley men's basketball team to an 83-66 victory in its exhibition contest against Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Sophomore Antoine Pittman led the Braves with 12 points with sophomore Ronnie Suggs chipping in 11 points. Sophomore Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye and freshman Darrell Brown also added 10 points apiece with junior Donte Thomas and Luuk van Bree scoring nine.

Van Bree also led the Braves with eight rebounds in the winning effort, while Pittman and freshman Jayden Hodgson posted a team-best three assists.

The Bradley offense clicked from the start, scoring on five of its first six possessions and six of its first eight to race to a 12-4 lead at the first media timeout just 4:09 into the contest. The Eagles never pulled closer than eight the remainder of the game as the Bradley lead grew to as many as 15 points in the first half – thanks to three 3-pointers from Suggs in a three-minute stretch – before the Braves settled for a 41-30 break at the intermission.

Bradley shot the ball at 46.7 rate in the first half, while connecting on 6-of-14 from long distance. The Braves also held the Eagles to just 36.4 percent shooting, including a 20-percent mark from beyond the arc, to race to the double-digit lead.

The Eagles hit a three to open the second stanza to pull within eight, 41-33, but it marked the last time UW-La Crosse would be within 10 the rest of the game. Brown connected on a layup to ignite an 11-0 run and put the game out of reach. Lautier-Ogunleye scored five points during the stretch with Brown adding four as the Braves took a commanding 52-33 advantage.

The Bradley lead would balloon to as much as 25 late in the game before the Eagles went on an 8-0 run in the final three minutes of the contest to provide the 83-66 final score.

Overall, Bradley connected on 53.8 percent of its shots in the winning effort, including 9-of-25 three-pointers. The Braves also outrebounded the Eagles, 46-32.

Bradley now turns its attention toward Illinois-Springfield for the team's regular-season opener. The game, which is part of the Gulf Coast Showcase, is set to tip off on Friday at 7 p.m. at Carver Arena.
