Opening-Weekend Promotions

Special Veterans Day recognition and the annual Baby Race highlight the promotions surrounding Bradley Basketball's opening weekend

PEORIA, IL - A pair of promotions have been announced for the opening weekend of Bradley Basketball.

In Friday's regular-season opener against Illinois Springfield, the Braves will honor the Veterans Day holiday. Special Armed Forces will be recognized via ceremonies pregame and again at halftime.

During Sunday's contest against Delaware, the annual Bradley Braves Baby Race, presented by The Baby Place at Pekin Hospital, will highlight the halftime entertainment. Children three and under are invited to participate in this annual tradition, which will include three races – one each for young crawlers, intermediate crawlers and beginning-level walkers.

Sign up is available at bradleybraves.com/babyrace.  The winners of each race will receive a gift basket from The Baby Place at Pekin Hospital in addition to tickets to Bradley's home contest Jan. 29 versus Wichita State. All participants will receive a t-shirt courtesy of The Baby Place at Pekin Hospital.

The Braves tip off the 2016-17 campaign with three consecutive home games at Carver Arena, beginning with Friday's 7 p.m. tipoff against Illinois Springfield in the first round of the Gulf Coast Showcase exempt tournament.  Bradley will have just one day off before continuing its opening homestand with a 4 p.m. matchup versus Delaware Sunday at Carver Arena.

Every home game also features family-friendly entertainment at Kaboom!'s Korner in the Great Hall lobby at Peoria Civic Center. Friday's game features Jam Bounce House and face painting from Wild Style Design Company, while's Sunday's contest features Basketball Jam Bounce House, a balloon artist from the Unique Twist and face painting Wild Style Design Company. Kaboom!'s Korner opens 90 minutes prior to tip off and is open through the end of halftime.

Additionally, on Sunday, the team will shoot baskets with kids in sixth grade and under, immediately following the conclusion of the game.
