PEORIA, Ill. -- Former Bradley cross country/track & field runner Lauren Fog (Harvard, Ill./Harvard) will be one of approximately 200 individuals competing for a spot on the United States Olympic team when she runs in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials Saturday in Los Angeles.
A 2011 Bradley graduate, Fog received a spot in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials after posting a time of 2:45:02 at the Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minn., last June. The top three finishers who meet Olympic time standards will be nominated to represent the U.S. in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Saturday's Olympic Marathon Trials are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. (CST) with live coverage on NBCSports starting at noon (CST).
A member of the Boulder Track Club, Fog has been training in Boulder, Colo., for the past year and a half.
