JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Senior Jenna Roadley (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Sturgeon Heights) turned in the lowest 54-hole total of her career to tie for third overall and the Bradley women's golf team opened its spring schedule with a fifth-place showing at the Amelia Island Intercollegiate.
The Braves had a pair of individuals in the top 10 with fellow senior Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) tying for seventh overall to join Roadley in the top 10.
As a team, Bradley shot 312 on the final day of play at the par-72 Amelia National Golf Club Tuesday to slip from second to fifth in the final team standings at 896. The team score of 896 was the lowest 54-hole total in school history, breaking the previous mark of 901 shot at the 2014 Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
Roadley earned her second top-10 finish of the year with a personal best 54-hole total of 218 after shooting a three-over 75 on the final day to pace the Braves. Lemek carded a 78 Tuesday to finish two shots behind Roadley in a tie for seventh as she collected her third straight top-10 finish and fifth of the season. She pushed her streak of consecutive sub-80 rounds to 20 and now has a program record 99 career rounds in the 70's or better.
Sophomore Ally Scaccia (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) finished out the tournament with an 82 as she tied for 38th overall at 229. Freshman Chloe Horton (Coral Gables, Fla./Ransom Everglades) was four shots behind Scaccia in a tie for 51st at 233, firing a final-round 81. Sophomore Grace Henderson (Peachtree Corners, Ga./Blessed Trinity) rounded out the team scoring for Bradley with a third-round score of 78 to tie for 59th (235).
North Florida claimed the team title by nine strokes at 875 (+11), with Cincinnati following in second at 884. Campbell and Kennesaw State finished one shot ahead of Bradley in a tie for third (895), while the Braves were fifth at 896, two shots ahead of sixth-place Tulsa (898).
Georgia Southern took seventh at 902 and the top 10 of the 16-team field was rounded out by Daytona State College (8th - 912), Florida Gulf Coast (9th - 917) and Memphis (10th - 918).
Bradley returns to action later this week, taking part in the 14th annual Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz., Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
