PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior Jaelen Hull (Clifton, Ill./Bishop McNamara) turned in another strong outing in the circle, limiting Loyola to just four hits in 6.2 innings of work, and freshman Gabby Stoner (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) went 2-for-3 with two RBI to help Bradley complete the series sweep of Loyola with a 3-1 victory over the Ramblers Sunday at Laura Bradley Park.

Hull, who tossed a complete game, one-hit shutout against Loyola Friday in the series opener, was equally impressive Sunday.  She struck out seven and walked just one, while holding the Ramblers to four hits in 6.2 innings before giving way to senior Dani Cowan (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad/Buffalo/Palomar J.C.) for the final out of the contest.

Loyola (20-26 overall, 4-17 MVC) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the first.  A two-out walk to Katie Kasubke was costly as Brooke Wyderski followed with a RBI double off the fence in right center.  Wyderski missed the first two games of the series, but returned to the lineup to collect three of Loyola's four hits in a 3-for-3 effort.

Hull settled down to retire the Ramblers in order in the second and didn't allow a runner to advance past second base the rest of the contest.

Bradley (18-26 overall, 12-11 MVC) got a pair of runs in bottom of the second to grab a 2-1 lead.  A leadoff walk and singles by Maria Schroeder (Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich) and Elizabeth Leonard (Olathe, Kan./Olathe East) loaded the bases with one out.  Stoner came up with the big hit of the inning with a two-out, two-run single to left.

The Ramblers put the leadoff hitter on in both the third and fourth, but came up empty and Bradley added an insurance run in the bottom of the fourth.  Junior Kelly Kapp (Freeburg, Ill./Gibault Catholic) had a one-out bunt single and Stoner followed with an infield single of her own.  A Loyola throwing error on Stoner's single allowed Kapp to score all the way from first as the Braves pushed the advantage to 3-1.

Hull sat Loyola down in order in the top of the fifth and worked around a pair of two-out singles in the sixth.  In the seventh, she struck out the first two batters she faced to give her seven punch outs in the contest.  Playing the final home game of her career, Cowan took over for Hull in the circle and struck out Ashley Rogers to end the contest.  Cowan tied Glenda Nelson's 1988 Bradley season saves record with her fourth of the year.

Hull is now 5-0 with a 0.70 ERA in her career against the Ramblers as she improved to 5-11 on the year with the victory.  She did not allow a hit to Erica Nagel, who leads the MVC with a .447 batting average, and held the top three in the Loyola batting order to a combined 0-for-8.

Bradley will close out the 2016 regular-season schedule next weekend with a three-game series at Drake.  The Braves and Bulldogs will open the series Saturday with a noon doubleheader in Des Moines, Iowa.
