PEORIA, IL - Golf, basketball, parades and baseball all are on tap as Bradley Athletics gears up for a fun schedule of social activities to engage the fan base during the summer months.

The summer schedule will get started June 10 with the 40th annual Braves Club Golf Classic, presented by Pearl Automotive, at WeaverRidge Golf Club.  Supported by Busey Bank and Office Depot OfficeMax, the Braves Club Golf Classic will be the first of two summer golf outings benefitting Bradley Athletics.  The department also will host the Chicagoland Golf Outing June 27 at Royal Fox Country Club in St. Charles, IL.  The summer schedule also will include an appearance by Bradley Athletics personnel in the West Peoria Fourth of July Parade; the inaugural Hilltop Hoopin' Summer Slam, presented by Aetna, a fan festival and men's basketball alumni game July 11; and Bradley Night with the Peoria Chiefs July 30 at Dozer Park.

Registration is currently underway for both Bradley golf outings and all former Bradley Basketball players interested in participating in the Hilltop Hoopin' Summer Slam alumni game are asked to contact Chris Braun in the Bradley Basketball office at (309) 677-2668.

A primary attraction of Hilltop Hoopin' Summer Slam will be a competitve scrimmage featuring the Always A Brave Bradley Basketball Alumni Team forming to compete in the third annual The Basketball Tournament. TBT 2016 is an open-application, 5-on-5, winner-take-all basketball tournament that will award a $2 million cash prize to the winning team. The tournament will be capped at 64 teams and 44 of those squads will be granted automatic entry through an online fan vote currently underway that will continue through June 1 at www.thetournament.com. A core group of players from Bradley's 2006 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 squad are reuniting with a few of the program's younger alumni with the goal of playing in this year's tournament. Team rosters are limited to 11 players and the nine players currently committed to Always A Brave are: Tony Bennett, Jeremy Crouch, Will Franklin, Sam Maniscalco, Patrick O'Bryant, Daniel Ruffin, Matt Salley, Marcellus Sommerville and Andrew Warren. The Bradley alumni team will be coached by current Director of Operations Rick Karius and former Braves player and assistant coach Chuck Buescher.
