The progress of nine Braves in the pros and 11 current Bradley Baseball players competing in summer collegiate leagues once again is included in the latest edition of the Bradley Baseball Summer Update.  Former Bradley shortstop Jason Leblebijian highlights today's update as he continues to excel for Toronto's Double-A affiliate New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

Braves in the Pros

Joe Bircher (2009-12), LHP
Sioux Falls Canaries, American Association of Independent Professional Baseball

Bircher fell to 0-5 on the season with his poorest outing of the season Friday at Winnipeg, where he allowed eight runs, five earned, on nine hits in 4.0 innings.  Still suffering from a lack of run support, the Canaries have scored more than two runs in only two of Bircher's eight starts this season.

Matt Dennis (2014-16), RHP
Grand Junction Rockies (COL), Rookier Pioneer League

Dennis earned his first career professional win Saturday and picked up a second victory Monday, both in relief outings.  Since allowing four runs, two earned, in 1.0 inning in his professional debut June 24, Dennis (2-1) has made four consecutive appearances without allowing a run.  He made three scoreless appearances last week, allowing two hits and a walk, while striking out three.

Chris Godinez (2012-15), IF
Staten Island Yankees (NYY), Class A Short Season New York-Penn League

Godinez is batting just .167, but continues to find ways to get on base for Staten Island.  Despite his low batting average, Godinez has reached base safely via a hit, walk or hit by pitch in nine of his 12 games and he has a sacrifice fly in one of the three games he did not reach safely.  Though he has just one hit in his last six games, a double Friday, Godinez has been hit by three pitches and drawn four walks in those same six games.

Jason Leblebijian (2010-12), IF
New Hampshire Fisher Cats (TOR), Double-A Eastern League

Leblebijian continues to swing a hot bat in his first season at the Double-A level and he has reached base safely in 12 consecutive games after going 1-for-3 with two RBI's, including the go-ahead sacrifice fly, in Monday's 4-3 win against Portland.  Leblebijian, who was 4-for-7 with three doubles in Friday's doubleheader at Binghamton, does not have enough AB's at the Double-A level since his June 4 promotion to officially qualify for the league batting leaders, but his .323 average with the Fisher Cats would rank third in the Eastern League and his 0.42 doubles per game (12 in 28 games) easily paces the league.

Tyler Leffler (2013-16), IF
West Virginia Black Bears (PIT), Class A Short Season New York-Penn League

After collecting a base hit in each of his first five professional games, Leffler is on a 3-game hitless streak and he takes a .179 abbreviated season average into Tuesday's doubleheader at Aberdeen.  Since opening his rookie pro season at shortstop, Leffler has played second base in each of his last seven games.  Defensively, he has been a part of 10 double plays in eight games, turning six of those twin killings from his new position as the second baseman.

Max Murphy (2012-14), OF
Fort Myers Miracle (MIN), Class A Advanced Florida State League

Murphy, who hit his fifth home run of the summer to start the scoring in Friday's 7-4 win against Jupiter, has returned to the disabled list for the second time since his promotion to Fort Myers April 28.  Since being activated from his first DL stint June 20, Murphy was batting .242 (8-33) in eight games, capped by Friday's 2-for-4 performance with a double to go with his home run.

Cameron Roegner (2012-16), LHP
AZL Brewers (MIL), Rookie Arizona League

Roegner has made three relief appearances for the Brewers affiliate in the rookie Arizona League and he sports an early 1.29 ERA in 7.0 innings to date.  In his latest outing Friday, Roegner worked 3.0 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and a walk against his three strikeouts.  In his 7.0 innings to date, Roegner boasts a .182 opponent batting average, 0.86 WHIP and a 3.0 strikeouts-to-walk ratio.

Rob Scahill (2006-09), RHP
Indianapolis Indians (PIT), Triple-A International League

Since striking out six in 4.0 scoreless innings June 21 in his longest professional outing as a reliever, Scahill allowed two runs in each of his last two appearances for the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians and was designated for assignment by the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday.  Scahill, who has pitched at the Major League level in each of the last five seasons for the Rockies (2012-14) and Pirates (2015-160 is 4-4 with a 3.89 ERA in 84 career appearances at the Big League level.

Mike Tauchman (2010-13), OF
Albuquerque Isotopes (COL), Triple-A Pacific Coast League

Tauchman heated up during the holiday weekend, going 5-for-11 with two doubles and two RBI's in the last three games for Colorado's Triple-A affiliate.  Tauchman also swiped a pair of bases in Sunday's 5-1 win at Sacramento and he is tied for sixth in the Pacific Coast League with his 17 steals.
