The Bradley men's basketball team began the 2016-17 season with its first official practice of the year on Friday morning.

The team performed a number of drills on the day and finished with a scrimmage at the J.J. Anderson Court in Renaissance Coliseum. Seven newcomers joined eight returning players to get their first taste of the 2016-17 season during a two-hour 15-minute practice.

"Building a team, you are putting pieces to a puzzle together," said second-year head coach Brian Wardle. "Not everyone is going to have the same strengths and the same weaknesses. I think these guys complement each other really well. That's where my staff did a tremendous good job of recruiting and finding the right pieces and trying to address the needs we had at the end of last season. So far, it has been a very good summer, fall and first practice but we need to continue to evolve and keep improving and see where this goes."
