PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior defender Jacob Taylor (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after earning all-tournament honors at last week's Hotels at Grand Prairie Classic.

Taylor helped the Bradley Soccer team to a second-place finish in the field by limiting the two opponents to a total of just 13 shots and only five shots on goal .  He was Bradley's only field player to play all 180 possible minutes over the three-day, weekend tournament.  A mechanical engineering major, Taylor owns a 3.78 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Taylor and the Bradley Soccer team return to action Friday at the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic in Evansville, Ind., opening the tournament Friday with a 5 p.m. match against Fort Wayne.
