Track Sets Three More Records in Day Two at Indiana

The Bradley track and field team set an additional three school records in the final day of the Gladstein Invitational on Saturday on the campus of Indiana University.

One day after setting the program's standard in the 400m dash yesterday, sophomore David Shadid set his second in two days in the 200m dash. The sophomore clocked a time of 22.45 to finish fifth in the event, surpassing the previous standard of 22.60 that stood for 28 years. Ted Wiltshire owned the previous record, set in 1988.

In his first collegiate meet, freshman Alec Hartman broke the program's 800m run record, set just last week by junior Haran Dunderdale. Hartman posted a time of 1:52.45 to top Xavier's Nolan Daniels and win the race, passing Dunderdale's mark of 1:54.24, set in Illinois.

The final mark to fall on the day was the 4x800 relay as Hartman collected his second school record of his debut and Dunderdale his second of the year. The duo was joined by freshman Sandy Freeland and junior Daniel Gagne as the four teamed to finish the race in a time of 7:40.51, topping the program's previous record by nearly seven seconds – the previous mark of 7:47.47 was set last season at the same event.

Only three members of women's team saw action in individual events on Saturday. Freshman Keina Suggs set her personal-best time of 26.67 in the 200m dash, while freshman Emma Makowski and senior Casey Kramer posted times of 2:23.20 and 2:28.36, respectively, in the 800m run.

The BU women also competed in the 4x400 relay – posting a time of 4:10.21 – and in the 4x800 relay with a time of 9:52.82.

Bradley is back in action in two weeks, competing at both the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame and at the Olivet Nazarene Invitational.
