SATURDAY SEASON OPENER
Having improved its overall and conference records in each of the last two seasons, Bradley Women's Tennis will begin the quest for its first winning season since 1992-93 (14-7) Saturday when the Braves open the dual match portion of their 2016-17 schedule by hosting South Dakota State in a 10 a.m. match at the Clubs at River City ... Since beginning his Bradley tenure by going 4-17 overall and 0-6 in The Valley in 2013-14, fourth-year Braves head coach Matt Tyler has seen his team jump to 11-13 (2-5 MVC) in 2014-15 and 13-13 (3-4 MVC) last season ... Saturday's match against the Jackrabbits (0-2) will be just the second all-time meeting between the two programs ... South Dakota State won the first matchup, 5-2, March 30, 2013 in Peoria.

DECHTER FIT TO BE TIED
Already the winningest player in Bradley history with 129 career combined singles and doubles victories, senior Ariel Dechter (Mundelein, IL/Mundelein H.S.) begins the dual match season second in Bradley history both with 72 career singles wins and 57 doubles victories ... Dechter needs just one win in each category to tie the respective school records: 73 singles wins by Teri Chan from 2003-07 and 58 doubles wins by Ashley Morris from 2002-06.

THREE IN THE TOP 10
As Bradley prepares to open its dual match season Saturday, three current players already rank among the program's top 10 for career singles victories ... In addition to Dechter, senior Ashley Thai (Hilliard, OH/Hilliard Bradley H.S.) is third with 58 career singles wins and junior Aimee Manfredo (Shoreham, NY/Shoreham-Wading River H.S.) is 10th with 44 career wins.
