PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior outside hitter Erica Haslag (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after helping Bradley split a pair of Missouri Valley Conference road matches last week.

Haslag averaged 5.30 kills, 0.40 aces, 3.10 digs and 0.30 blocks per set in a pair of five-set outings.  In a five-set thriller at league-leading Missouri State Friday, in which the Braves had four match points, Haslag notched a career-high 30 kills to go with 17 digs as she became just the 14th player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills.  Her 30 kills were the most by a Bradley player since 2005.  Saturday, Haslag had 23 kills, 14 digs and matched a career-best with four aces to help power the Braves to a five-set victory at Southern Illinois.  Bradley, which has played four five-set contests in the last five outings, earned its first five-set road win in conference play since capping the 2013 regular-season with a five-set victory at Drake.  An actuarial science major, Haslag owns a 3.87 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Haslag and the Bradley Volleyball team return to action this weekend, opening a two-match home stand Friday with a 7 p.m. contest against Drake at Renaissance Coliseum.
