Women’s Golf Takes Seventh At Johnie Imes Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. – A balanced team effort helped the Bradley women's golf team to a seventh-place finish in the 14-team field at Johnie Imes Invitational as the Braves posted the third-best 54-hole score in program history.
 
Four of Bradley's five individuals fired two-over par 74's in the final round at the par-72 Club at Old Hawthorne to help the Braves shoot an eight-over par 296 in Tuesday's final round on the heels of a second-round 302 to start the day.  Bradley finished seventh overall in the field at 31-over 895 for the third-lowest three-round total in school history.  The final round 296 tied for the 20th best team round at Bradley.
 
The top finisher among the three Missouri Valley Conference schools in the tournament, Bradley finished three shots ahead of eighth-place Florida Gulf Coast (898) and 10 strokes back of sixth-place Mercer (885).  The Johnie Imes Invitational featured five teams ranked in the laterst Golfweek.com top 100.
 
Senior Ally Scaccia was Bradley's top individual finisher at seven-over 223, carding rounds of 75 and 74 during Tuesday's action.  Scaccia extended her streak of consecutive sub-80 rounds to 10 and now has 78 career rounds in the 70's or better.
 
Juniors Frankie Saban and Brooke Thompson were both one shot behind Scaccia in a tie for 29th at 224.  Saban followed up a second-round 77 with a two-over 74 in the final round, while Thompson chased her second round 76 with a 74 of her own to wrap up the tournament. 
 
Sophomore Taylor Ledwein fired scores of 74 and 77 on the final day as she pushed her streak of consecutive sub-80 rounds to 16 to match the fifth longest streak in program history.  Ledwein tied for 48th overall at 230.
 
Junior Chloe Horton rounded out the team scoring for the Braves in a tie for 55th at 232, following up a second-round 82 with a two-over par 74. 
 
The Bradley women's golf team continues the busiest week of the Fall schedule at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational in Lexington, Ky., Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
