PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore guard Darrell Brown (Memphis, Tenn./Germantown) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after helping Bradley Men's Basketball to a 3-1 record last week.

Brown averaged a team-best 15.0 points to go with 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while connecting on 6-of-10 three-pointers in four games last week.  He opened the week with 11 points, three boards and three assists in a home win against Delaware Tuesday.  In the first game of the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase, Brown had 12 points, two rebounds and an assist in a tightly contested outing against Vermont.  He scored 14 points and also had three boards and three assists the next day in a win against Texas-San Antonio, before wrapping up Bradley's trip to the Bahamas with a season-best 23-point outburst in a win against Weber State in which he made all three of his three-point attempts.  A public relations major, Brown owns a 3.12 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Brown and the Bradley men's basketball team return to Carver Arena to open a three-game home stand Wednesday with a 7 p.m. contest against Missouri S&T.
