Nate Kennell Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore guard Nate Kennell (Metamora, Ill./Metamora Township) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after helping Bradley Men's Basketball to a pair of home victories last week.

Kennell averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in the two home contests. He led the team in scoring for the third time this year with 18 points to go with five assists in a victory over Missouri S&T Wednesday night. In Saturday's win over Georgia Southern, Kennell collected a career-best eight rebounds to go with nine points and three assists. A management information systems major, Kennell owns a 3.67 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Kennell and the Bradley men's basketball team close out a three-game home stand Friday with a 7 p.m. contest against in-state foe Eastern Illinois at Carver Arena.
