Chicago, Ill. – The Bradley men's basketball team earned its largest road win in 21 seasons, posting a convincing 84-58 victory at Chicago State on Saturday afternoon. The Braves improve to 9-2 on the year with the road victory, while the Cougars drop to 2-12.
 
Sophomore Darrell Brown led the Braves with his first collegiate double-double, scoring 11 points to go with a career-best 10 assists. Overall, five Braves scored in double figures for the second-straight game with junior Luuk van Bree tallying a game-high 15 points – making all six of his field goals and all three 3-point attempts. Senior Donte Thomas and sophomore Jayden Hodgson also chipped in 13 points, while junior Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye added 11.
 

The Braves never trailed as it started the contest on fire on the offensive end, making eight of their first 10 shots and five of their first 6 3-point attempts to race to a 21-9 lead. The Cougars would pull as close as seven, 23-16, but a 10-2 run by the Braves quickly pushed the lead to 15, 33-18, and Chicago State was never within double-digits the remainder of the game. The Bradley lead would reach as high as 20 in the first half before settling for the 48-30 intermission lead.
 
Bradley shot 72.7 percent from the field to race to its 18-point halftime advantage, including an 8-of-11 mark from beyond the 3-point line.
 
In the second stanza, Chicago State pulled to within 12, 56-44, but a 17-2 run by the Braves sealed the victory. Hodgson keyed the stretch with 10 points, scoring all of his 13 points in the second half on Saturday as Bradley earned the 26-point win.
 
Overall, the Braves shot 56.0 percent with a 12-of-21 mark from 3-point range (57.1 percent). The Bradley defense also forced Chicago State into 19 turnovers, while recording a season-best eight blocks – four from sophomore Koch Bar.
 
Bradley looks to continue its winning ways on the road with a contest at Southeast Missouri State. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Game Notes: The Braves' victory was its largest on the road since also winning by 26 (79-53) at Drake on Feb. 1, 1997 … It also marked the first time that Bradley won back-to-back games by at least 25 points since the 2006-07 season … Brown is the first Brave with 10 assists and a double-double with points and assists since Sam Maniscalco had 19 points and 10 assists in a win against Wichita State on Feb. 24, 2010 … Overall, Bradley matched its season high with 23 assists, the fourth time this year with 20+ helpers in a game … The Braves last shot 70 percent in a half on Dec. 18, 2014 against Eureka … The Braves have won all 16 games against Chicago State.
