MILWAUKEE, WI - Senior Ariel Dechter (Mundelein, IL/Mundelein H.S.) set Bradley records for both career doubles (59) and singles (74) victories, leading the visiting Braves (2-2) to a 4-3 women's tennis dual match win at Milwaukee (2-3) Saturday afternoon at River Glen Elite.

Both Dechter (family emergency) and fellow senior Ashley Thai (injury) returned to the lineup after missing last weekend's action and both were key to Saturday's win. Dechter and junior Aimee Manfredo earned a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles to secure Bradley's first point of the match. Thai and freshman Natalia Barbery teamed for a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles, while sophomore Malini Wijesinghe and junior Alexa Brandt got the doubles sweep started with a 6-3 victory in the No. 3 spot.

Back in the singles lineup at the top of the order, Dechter rolled to her record-breaking victory with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at No. 1 singles. Junior Alejandra de Lasa won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Wijesinghe clinched the team victory with her 7-5, 7-5 win in the No. 6 place.

Wijesinghe is now 3-1 in singles matches in the young 2017 season. Her only loss came in a tight three-set match against Eastern Illinois (5-0).

The Braves complete their 3-match road swing Sunday when they travel to Chicago to face UIC (2-2) at XS Tennis. Bradley will open a 6-match home stand next weekend by hosting Western Illinois (10 a.m.) and Chicago State (2 p.m.) in a Saturday doubleheader at the Clubs at River City.
