PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley Women's Golf will head to Florida to open the spring season for the fourth consecutive year, kicking off the 2017 spring slate at the fourth Amelia Island Collegiate Monday and Tuesday in Fernandina Beach, Fla.

The Braves have opened the spring schedule at the Amelia Island Collegiate each of the past three years, with the team turning in a record setting performance last season.  Bradley carded the lowest round in school history (290) in the second round of last year's event at the par-72 Amelia National Golf Club and finished with the lowest 54-hole team total (896) in program history.

The first two rounds of the 54-hole tournament get underway Monday at 7 a.m. (CST) with a shotgun start.  Tuesday's final round will tee off at 7:30 a.m. (CST) with another shotgun start.  The 17-team field features a pair of teams ranked in Golfweek.com's top 100 in #44 Campbell and #92 Kennesaw State along with three teams from the state of Florida and five other squads from the states of Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Freshman Taylor Ledwein (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) led Bradley in three of the final four tournaments of the fall and brings a streak of 12 consecutive sub-80 rounds into the spring.  Ledwein finished the fall with a 75.94 stroke average, which would be the second-best by a Bradley freshman, and boasts three top-10 finishes.

Junior Ally Scaccia (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) is one of three current Braves to have played in the Amelia Island Collegiate each of the past two seasons.  Scaccia tied for 38th at last year's event and owns a 77.40 career stroke average at the Amelia National Golf Club.  Her 54 career sub-80 rounds rank eighth in school history and she needs three to move ahead of Rikki Sobel for seventh.

Sophomore Chloe Horton (Coral Gables, Fla./Ransom Everglades) returns to her home state as a Brave for the second time after tying for 51st at last year's Amelia Island Collegiate.  Horton closed the fall slate with a 77.50 stroke average and her 54-hole score of 233 at last year's event was her lowest three-round score of her freshman season.

One of four individuals to play in all 16 rounds this season, sophomore Frankie Saban (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) did not make the trip to Florida last spring.  Saban already has a career-best nine sub-80 rounds on the year and brings a 79.25 stroke average into the spring season.

Following the trip to Florida, Bradley continues a busy opening stretch to the spring schedule by taking part in the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz., Feb. 24-26.
