Donte Thomas (Calumet City, Ill./Thornwood) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after averaging 10.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in a pair of games last week.
Thomas opened the week with seven points, four rebounds and one assist in a three-point setback at Northern Iowa Wednesday night before turning in his fourth double-double of the year in Saturday's victory against Evansville. He netted 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting and also collected 13 boards and one block to help highlight the outing against the Purple Aces. For the Week Thomas shot 57.1 percent from the floor. A social work major, Thomas owns a 3.21 cumulative grade point average
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Thomas and the Bradley men's basketball team play the final home game of the 2016-17 season tonight, hosting Missouri State in a 7 p.m. contest at Carver Arena.
