PEORIA, Ill. -- Fresh off a second-place team finish at the Bradley Spring Break Invitational in Farmers Branch, Texas, Monday and Tuesday, the Bradley women's golf team wraps up its spring break trip to the Lone Star State this weekend at the Cardinal Challenge in Beaumont, Texas.

The Cardinal Challenge will feature two other Missouri Valley Conference schools in the nine-team field with Indiana State and Southern Illinois slated to compete.  In addition to tournament-host Lamar, the field consists of Cleveland State, Detroit, Fairleigh Dickinson, Prairie View A&M and Texas-Rio Grande Valley.

The second of three three-day tournaments on the 2017 Spring schedule for Bradley, the Cardinal Challenge gets underway Friday with a 8 a.m. tee times at the par-71 Beaumont Country Club.  Saturday's second round will start at 1 p.m. and Sunday's final round will once again feature tee times starting at 8 a.m.

The Braves matched their best finish of the 2016-17 season earlier this week with a second-place showing at the Bradley Spring Break Invitational in Farmers Branch, Texas, with the team's 54-hole score of 909 tying for the 10th best score in program history.

Junior Ally Scaccia tied for seventh at the Bradley Spring Break Invite to pace the Braves as she earned the seventh top-10 finish of her career.  After a final-round 74 on Tuesday, Scaccia is just the fourth player in program history to card 20 or more sub-80 rounds in two different seasons and joined Danielle Lemek and Kelly Amundrud as the only individuals to shoot 19 sub-80 rounds in three seasons.

Freshman Taylor Ledwein earned her team-best fourth top-10 finish of the season, tying for 10th at the Bradley Spring Invite.  She has a team-best 21 rounds in the 70's this season and has posted a 76.22 stroke average this spring.  Ledwein is just the fourth freshmen in program history to shoot 20 or more sub-80 rounds.

Sophomore Chloe Horton shot a 231 earlier this week for her best 54-hole score since late September and now has as many rounds in the 70's (17) this year as she played her entire freshman season.  She tied for 17th at the Bradley Spring Break Invitational for her fourth top-20 finish of the year.

Fellow sophomore Frankie Saban continued her impressive spring with a 19th-place finish in Farmers Branch.  Saban has posted a 76.00 stroke average over her last five rounds and owns a 76.78 average in her nine rounds this spring, which is two-and-a-half shots better than her fall average.

Junior Grace Henderson shot a 77 Tuesday and is closing in on the top 15 in school history in career sub-80 rounds, needing three to tie Bradley Hall of Fame member Kelly Dillon for 15th.  Seven of her nine rounds this spring have been under 80 and she boasts a 77.89 average this spring.

Following the Cardinal Challenge Bradley will host the Bradley Spring Invitational April 1 & 2 at WeaverRidge Golf Club in the team's final outing before the 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Championship (April 16-18).
