PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley men's golf team will travel to Bloomington, Ind., for the third consecutive year, to take part in the Hoosier Invitational at the Indiana University Golf Course Saturday and Sunday.

The Braves claimed team titles in each of the last two team events and Bradley's four tournament victories this season are the most since 1967-68.  In fact, the Braves have placed in the top three in six of eight tournaments in 2016-17 heading into the final month of the season.

No stranger to the Hoosier Invitational, Bradley has tied for seventh each of the last two trips to Bloomington, Ind.  Play at the par-71 Indiana University Golf Course gets underway Saturday at 7:45 a.m. (CDT) with a shotgun start and will feature 36 holes.  Sunday's final round will tee off at 8 a.m. (CDT).  BradleyBraves.com will provide links to live scoring for all three rounds.

One of four MVC teams in the 14-team field, Bradley will be joined by Valley foes Drake, Evansville and Illinois State.  Tournament-host Indiana is one of five teams from the Hoosier State scheduled to play along with Fort Wayne, IUPUI and Valparaiso.  UNC Charlotte is the highest ranked team in the field at #73 in the latest Golfweek.com rankings.  The rest of the tournament field features Detroit, Oakland, Toledo, Western Illinois, Youngstown State and individuals from Oklahoma State.

Junior Matthew Specht (Munster, Ind./Munster) was Bradley's top finisher at Saturday's I-74 Individual Challenge and has played in each of the last two Hoosier Invitational's.  Specht has posted a 77.40 stroke average in five career rounds at the Indiana University Golf Course.

Sophomore Drake Bushong (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) fired a pair of 77's last spring in Bloomington, Ind., and brings a streak of 26 consecutive sub-80 rounds into the weekend.  Bushong has fired six consecutive rounds of 75 or better, posting a 72.83 average during that stretch.  He has 58 career rounds in the 70's or better and with nine rounds remaining on the regular-season schedule needs just three sub-80 rounds to become the first individual in program history to collect more than 60 sub-80 rounds in a two-year period.

Junior Ethan Brue (Chanlerville, Ill./AC Central/Illinois Central) claimed medalist honors at last week's Twin Oaks Intercollegiate for his third individual title of the season.  Brue owns a 72.18 average this spring and has carded a 70 or lower in five of his last eight rounds for a 72.00 average during that span.

Sophomore Michael Mounce (El Paso, Ill./El Paso-Gridley/Illinois State) played in last year's Hoosier Invitational as a freshman at Illinois State and finished 15th in the event at five-over 147.  Mounce has played in the last three events for the Braves and owns a 73.38 average after playing in just two fall tournaments.

Junior Zach Jewell (Mapleton, Ill./Limestone/Illinois Central) has fired a 77 or better in all 11 rounds this spring and shot 75 or better in six of his last seven rounds.  Jewell matched the low round in school history with a 66 in the final round of the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate last Tuesday and has posted an 71.5 stroke average in his last six rounds.

Following the Hoosier Invitational, Bradley will take part in the Ryman Intercollegiate in Nashville, Tenn., April 10 & 11 in the team's final outing before the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
