PEORIA, Ill. -- After opening the 2017 Spring season in Spring, Texas, in late February the Bradley men's golf team will return to the Lone Star State to host the Bradley Spring Break Invitational Monday and Tuesday in the Dallas area.

Bradley will be joined by Canisius, Incarnate Word, Loyola, SIU Edwardsville and UT-Dallas in the six-team field for the Bradley Spring Break Invitational, which will be played Monday and Tuesday at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas.

Play gets underway Monday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and will feature two rounds of play.  Tuesday's final round will also feature a 9 a.m. shotgun start.  BradleyBraves.com will provide links to live results via Birdiefire.com

The Braves opened the spring season Feb. 27 & 28 at the Colin Montgomerie/Houston Baptist Invitational, tying for seventh overall with a 54-hole score of 885, which is the 11th lowest team score in program history.

Junior Ethan Brue (Chandlerville, Ill./AC Central/Illinois Central) carried over his strong play from the fall in the spring opener and tied for 12th at the Houston Baptist Invite at 218.  Brue has shot 76 or better in each of his 18 rounds this season and brings a team-best 72.72 stroke average into the Bradley Spring Break Invite.

Sophomore Drake Bushong (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) has been equally as impressive with 17 of his 18 rounds this season at 76 or better.  Bushong has 50 career sub-80 rounds in his near two years on The Hilltop and will be shooting for the 15th top-20 finish of his Bradley career.  He owns a 72.78 career stroke average in three career tournaments in the state of Texas.

The Braves received a boost from the return of sophomore Daniel Lensing (Spring Park, Minn./Orono) in the spring opener after he missed over a full year due to injury.  Lensing tied for 36th at the Houston Baptist Invitational with an eight-over 224 in his return.  He posted a 75.89 average during the fall of 2015 before his season-ending injury.

One of four individuals to play in all 18 rounds in 2016-17, sophomore Branden Mounce (El Paso, Ill./El Paso-Gridley/Illinois State) has been among Bradley's top four finishers in five consecutive events and boasts a 75.83 stroke average during that stretch.

Junior Zach Jewell (Mapleton, Ill./Limestone/Illinois Central) has also played in all six tournaments this season.  Jewell's season average of 76.00 is third among the Bradley regulars and he has been at 75 or better seven times in 2016-17.

Following the Bradley Spring Break Invitational, the Braves will travel to Springfield, Mo., for the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate March 20 & 21.
