CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Freshman Taylor Ledwein was the only Brave to shoot in the 70's, firing a second-round 78 to finish Monday's action tied for fifth overall, while the Bradley women's golf team is tied with Northern Iowa for third after 36 holes at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.

Rain at the par-72 Dalhousie Country Club forced a delay to Monday's second round which was originally scheduled to tee off at 10 a.m.  The teams finally took the course under a light rain, which let up near the midway point of the round, for a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

Bradley entered the day second in the team standings and followed up Sunday's opening round 308 with a 326 Monday to slip into a tie with Northern Iowa for third at 634.  Missouri State stretched what was a six-shot lead entering the day into a 13-shot advantage with the lowest round of the day (314).  Three-time defending champion Wichita State is second at 629 behind the Bears (616).  The Braves and Panthers sit in third at 634, while Southern Illinois rounds out the top half of the field in fifth (637).

Ledwein carded a six-over 78 Monday for her team-leading 28th sub-80 round of the year and is tied for fifth overall 152, eight shots off the leader.  The 28 rounds in the 70's or better in 2016-17 ties the Bradley freshman record and is tied for the second-best season total in school history.

Sophomore Chloe Horton moved into a tie for 16th at 159, turning in an 83 Monday and is four shots out of the top 10.  Junior Ally Scaccia was one shot better than Horton Monday with an 82, but is one shot behind her in 19th at 160 as Scaccia looks for her fourth consecutive top-20 finish.

Sophomore Frankie Saban matched Horton's second round 83 to close the day in a tie for 24th (163).  Junior Grace Henderson rounds out the scoring for the Braves at 164, firing an 84 and is tied for 31st overall in the individual standings.

The final round of the 2017 MVC Championship is slated to tee off at 9 a.m. Tuesday. The Braves will play in the final group along with Missouri State and Wichita State with the first tee times at 9:40 a.m.
