PEORIA, IL - The Bradley Atheltics annual awards program will have a new vibe this year with a new name, new video features and new awards, but the program once again will culminate with the presentation of the department's most prestigious honor, the Charles Orsborn Award, tonight at Renaissance Coliseum.

Renamed the Kaboom! Awards, tonight's program will begin with a red carpet social hour, then will feature an ESPY-styled program spotlighting 10 award categories. The show will conclude with the presentation of the 64th Charles Orsborn Award, which is the most prestigious honor Bradley University bestowsn upon a graduating student-athlete and recognizes the ability of the winner to combine athletic and academic achievement with community service.

The four finalists for the 2017 Charles Orsborn Award are men's cross country/track runner Patrick Campbell (Wauwatosa, WI/Wauwatosa H.S.), women's tennis player Ariel Dechter (Mundelein, IL/Mundelein H.S.), softball pitcher Jaelen Hull (Clifton, IL/Bishop McNamara H.S.) and women's basketball player Leti Lerma (Muscatine, IA/Muscatine H.S.).

New awards to be presented tonight include men's and women's Individual Performances of the Year, men's and women's Team Performances of the Year and the Highlight of the Year. Longstanding annual department awards will include the presentations of the Coach Joe Stowell Awards, the Carl Grose Service Award, Megan C. Fong Inspiration Award, Bradley Athletics Special Recognition Award and the Orville Nothdurft Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as recognition of the 2016 Varsity Club Most Outstanding Athletes.

The red carpet entrances into Renaissance Coliseum of Bradley student-athletes will be shown on the arena's video boards and the 7 p.m. awards program will be broadcast live on the Bradley Athletics YouTube channel.
