THE OPENING PITCH
•  Momentum will be the theme of the final series of the regular season at Dozer Park starting Thursday, when Bradley hosts Missouri Valley Conference rival Southern Illinois for a 3-game set.
•  Since taking 2-of-3 games against Illinois State April 21-23, Bradley has dropped nine of its last 10 games and will be trying to regain some momentum heading into next week's MVC Baseball Championship.
•  Although the Salukis are coming off a Tuesday night loss to Saint Louis, Southern Illinois swept the Redbirds last weekend and will be trying to keep the momentum going against the Braves.
•  Bradley enters the final series of the season seventh in the MVC standings with a chance to climb to sixth by sweeping the Salukis with a simultaneous DBU sweep at Evansville.
•  SIU is tied for fourth with Wichita State (at Indiana State) and the Salukis can finish anywhere from tied for third to alone in sixth in the final league standings.
