PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley Assistant Volleyball Coach Jon Wong was named a technical assistant for this summer's U.S. Collegiate National Team-Minneapolis Program according to a recent announcement by USA Volleyball.

USA Volleyball has extended 31 of 36 invites for individuals to train and compete as part of the U.S. Collegiate National Team-Minneapolis (CNT-Minneapolis) program. Five spots remain open for the CNT-Minneapolis program pending final outcome of the U.S. Women's Junior National Team's results at the Women's U20 Pan American Cup held in early May.

The CNT-Minneapolis squad, which is part of USA Volleyball's High Performance pipeline and is considered a second tryout for the U.S. Women's National Team, will train June 22-26 at the University of Minnesota.  Afterward, the athletes will be assigned to one of three 12-member teams and compete in a round-robin format at the Minneapolis Convention Center from June 27-30.  The matches are being held in conjunction with the USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships.

"I am excited for Jon to be named as a coach of the USA collegiate team," said Bradley Volleyball head coach Carol Price-Torok.  "He is quickly earning a reputation for his knowledge and expertise with statistics and game preparation. He will be a big asset to the players and staff in Minneapolis this summer."

In addition to his work with CNT-Minneapolis this summer, Wong will also serve as an assistant coach at the USA High Performance Championships with the girls national youth squad at the USA High Performance Championships in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., July 18-22
