Box Score SPRINGFIELD, MO - In his regular-season start against Evansville, Bradley sophomore lefthander Cole Cook worked a 6-hit shutout, leading the Braves to a 6-0 victory May 6 at Dozer Park.  The Purple Aces (18-38) got their revenge Thursday, touching Cook for four runs on six hits in just one-third of an inning on their way to a 12-2 win in Bracket A's first elimination game in the 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championship at Hammons Field.

After reaching the final day in each of the last two MVC Tournaments, Bradley (20-31) saw its 2017 season with an 0-2 showing in this year's tournament.

It appeared Bradley might rally by stringing together three consecutive 2-out RBI singles in the third inning to pull within 4-2, but the Purple Aces pulled the trump card with five 2-out hits in a 5-run outburst in the home half of the third to build a 9-2 lead.  By the end of the third, each of Evansville's nine starting position players had at least one hit.

The Purple Aces got the run it needed to invoke the league's 10-run rule in the sixth when Brendan Krob doubled home Craig Shepherd for the 12-2 lead.

Luke Mangieri and Derek Bangert both went 2-for-3 with a RBI to highlight Bradley's 6-hit effort.  Shepherd led Evansville's 14-hit attack by going 3-for-3, while Krob legged out two doubles in support of Purple Aces starter Patrick Schnieders (W 5-6).
