Braves in the Pros Update
Elliot Ashbeck (2013-15) | RHP | MiLB.com Bio
Lake Elsinore Storm (San Diego Padres) | Class A Advanced California League

Ashbeck underwent Tommy John surgery early in the 2016 season and continues to rehab in the Padres organization.  He has been listed on the 7-Day Disabled List at Lake Elsinore since the season began in anticipation of a mid-season return.

Joe Bircher (2009-12) | LHP | Pro Bio
Sioux Falls Canaries (Independent) | American Association

After spending his first two professional seasons in the Houston Astros organization, Bircher has begun his fourth season on the mound in Sioux Falls and was recently spotlighted in a Sioux Falls Argus Leader feature.  The 6-foot-4 lefty is 1-1 with a 2.77 ERA in his first two starts of the 2017 season.  Suffering a tough-luck loss, 2-1, in the season opener May 18, Bircher got plenty of run support in his second start May 24, a 16-3 win against St. Paul and he is expected to start again tonight when the Canaries visit Winnipeg for the second game in a 4-game series.

Working exclusively out of the bullpen in a setup role in his second pro season, Dennis has been scored upon in only two of his 16 outings to date this season.  In both of those outings, however, Dennis has allowed four runs in 1.0 inning, including Monday's 6-2 loss versus Lexington.  For the season, the 6-foot-1 righthander is 2-0 with a 2.92 ERA.  In his 24.2 innings, he has allowed just 19 hits and six walks against 25 strikeouts.  Through Monday's action, Dennis is tied for seventh in the South Atlantic League with 16 pitching appearances and he is tied for second with four "Holds."

Jason Leblebijian (2010-12) | 3B | MiLB.com Bio | #VoteLeb
Buffalo Bisons (Toronto Blue Jays) | Triple-A International League

Online fan voting is underway for the Triple-A All-Star Game and Leblebijian is one of Buffalo's top candidates to represent the International League.  The utility infielder is coming off perhaps the best offensive showing of his professional career Monday at Charlotte, where he was 4-for-5 with two home runs and a double off the wall for 11 total bases and four RBI's.  A sixth-year pro, Leblebijian is enjoying his best season in his first year at the Triple-A level:  Monday's effort raised his season numbers to .305 with 11 doubles, seven home runs and 33 RBI's in his 44 games for Buffalo.  He currently ranks fourth in the International League in both slugging percentage (.539) and OPS (.920) and eighth in both batting average and RBI's.

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Milwaukee Brewers) | Class A Midwest League

A 6-foot-6 left-handed pitcher from Beloit, WI, Roegner earned first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors as a senior for the Braves in 2016 before being selected in the 22nd round of last June's Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers.  Splitting time between bullpen and starting positions in his first two professional seasons, Roegner is 6-4 with a 4.31 ERA in 24 career appearances.  In his first year with the Class A Midwest League's Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Roegner is 4-1 with a 5.63 ERA in 10 outings, including five as a starter.  In an April 21 home start versus the Chiefs, Roegner earned his first win of the season by allowing only four hits in 6.0 shutout innings.

In his four 2016 Dozer Park starts, Roegner was 3-0 with a 2.02 ERA and 27 strikeouts against just three walks in his 26.2 innings against Illinois College, Missouri State, Dallas Baptist and Indiana State.  He is not expected to see any action during his return to Peoria, however, after throwing a season-high 81 pitches in 4.2 innings of relief Monday at Clinton.  Wisconsin will visit the Chiefs again for 4-game series July 29-Aug. 1.

Rob Scahill (2006-09) | RHP | MLB.com Bio

Called up by Milwaukee May 1, Scahill is pitching in the Majors for a sixth consecutive season and he already has appeared in nine games for the Brewers this month.  In those nine outings, the 6-foot-2 righthander is 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 13.1 innings.

Mike Tauchman (2010-13) | OF | MiLB.com Bio | #VoteTauchman
Albuquerque Isotopes (Colorado Rockies) | Triple-A Pacific Coast League

A fifth-year pro, Tauchman is enjoying his best season to date in his second year at the Triple-A level with Albuquerque.  After going 1-for-4 with a sacrifice fly in Monday's game at Fresno, Tauchman is batting a career-best .303 with nine doubles, six home runs and 32 RBI in 46 games for the Isotopes.  His six home runs already are two more than his previous season-best total.  Joining Leblebijian on the esurance Triple-A All-Star Ballot, Tauchman ranks ninth among Pacific Coast League outfielders in both RBI's (32) and OPS (.891).
