Three Bradley University programs were recognized by the NCAA for outstanding academic achievement, earning Academic Progress Rate (APR) Public Recognition Awards. The Braves men's basketball, men's golf and men's soccer programs each collected the honor from the NCAA.

To be recognized, a program must rank in the top 10 percent within its sport nationally, according to overall team academic performance during a four-year period. The current period released ended with the 2015-16 academic year.

"NCAA student-athletes and schools continue to achieve unprecedented levels of academic success," said Mark Emmert, NCAA president. "We commend these programs for their commitment to academic excellence and dedication to preparing student-athletes for life after college."

The Braves are the only men's basketball program in the Missouri Valley Conference and in the state of Illinois to receive the accolade. The team earned the honor for the first time in the 12-year history of the APR program.

The men's golf program collected the award for the sixth time in its history and the first since the 2008-09 year, while the men's soccer team earned the recognition for the fifth time overall and the third-straight year.
