The Braves cross country teams host the first of three meets during the 2017 campaign with the Bradley Intercollegiate at Detweiller Park on Friday afternoon.

MEET INFO
The men's 8K is slated to begin at 5 p.m. and will be followed by the women's three-mile run at 5:45 p.m. Other schools running at the meet include Division I programs Chicago State, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, Milwaukee and Western Illinois.

The Braves are set to feature full teams on both the men's and women's side on Friday for the first time this season.

INTERCOLLEGIATE HISTORY
The 31st running of the Bradley Intercollegiate on Friday, the Braves have hosted the meet since 1986. Last season, the Braves dominated en route to a pair of titles. The women scored a perfect 15 points to finish first with Hannah Witczak claiming her first collegiate title in 16:48.7, while the men posted five of the top six finishes to place first with 19 points. Michael Ward also claimed the individual title with the fastest time in the meet's history by a Brave at 24:30.3.

LAST TIME OUT
A pair of seniors led the Braves at the season-opening EIU Walt Crawford Open on Sept. 1 as Nikolas Hess finished sixth overall with a career-best 8K time of 25:40.23 and Nicole Alfano just missed her PR in the 5K by less than a second, placing 11th in 18:39.66.

RANKING UPDATE
The Braves continue to be ranked in the USTFCCCA Midwest poll, with the men placing seventh in the region and the women coming in at 13th. Bradley is the top-ranked team from the MVC in each poll and joins Indiana State (12th in men's and 13th in women's in Great Lakes Region) as the only conference program to have both teams ranked regionally.

UP NEXT
After a week off, the Braves return to competition at the Sam Bell Invitational on the campus of Indiana University. The women's 6K begins at 9 a.m. CT with the men's 8K following at 10 a.m. CT.
