Game Recap: Soccer | | Bobby Parker, Associate AD for Communications
PEORIA, IL – Sophomore Roman Schindler posted five points and the Braves kept their fourth-straight clean sheet at home to earn a 3-0 victory over visiting Fort Wayne in front the 2,355 fans at Shea Stadium – the fourth-highest attended home game in BU soccer history. With the victory, the Braves improve to 5-3-0 on the season, while the Mastodons drop to 1-3-3 in 2017.

Schindler's career-best five-point night started in the first half with his third goal of his sophomore season. In the game's 32nd minute, junior Frank Bak sent a cross toward the goal and Schindler headed it in from five yards out for the 1-0 lead.

The Braves then controlled the second half and added two tallies to secure the victory. Schindler scored his second of the night in the 53rd minute when after a failed clearing attempt by Fort Wayne, freshman Gerit Wintermeyer found his teammate near the goal and Schindler headed it from close range for the 2-0 lead.

Bak secured the victory with his second tally of the season in the 64th minute, heading in a cross from a tough angle along the goal line. Freshman Younes Dayekh and Schinlder both registered assists as Bradley earned the 3-0 victory.

On the defensive end, graduate student Brandon Barnes made seven saves and the one time the Fort Wayne offense got one past him, the Bradley defense was there to clear it off the line and preserve the clean sheet.

Bradley outshot the Mastodons, 17-14, on the night with a slight 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

The Braves return to action on Wednesday with a road contest at DePaul. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
