Hannah Angeli Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore setter Hannah Angeli (Maplewood, Minn./Hill-Murray School/Nebraska-Omaha) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after posting three double-doubles in as many outings at last week's Ball State Tournament.

Angeli helped Bradley average 19.18 digs per set in three contests at the Ball State Tournament in Muncie, Ind., with the setter averaging 4.36 digs per set to go with her 10.82 assists. She had three double-doubles to become the first player in program history to open a season with six consecutive double-doubles. In the sweep of Fort Wayne, Angeli had 13 digs along with four kills, 35 assists and one ace only to follow it up with seven kills, 10 digs, two aces and 35 assists against Ball State. Angeli wrapped up the weekend with a season-best 25 digs along with two blocks, four kills, 49 assists and an ace against Navy. She was the first Bradley individual with 49 assists and at least 25 digs in a match since Wendy Carney had 68 assists and 27 digs against Eastern Illinois on Oct. 29, 1988. A health science major, Angeli owns a 3.62 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Angeli and the Bradley Volleyball team continue a 10-match home stand, hosting the CEFCU Classic this weekend at Renaissance Coliseum. The Braves open tournament play Friday at 11 a.m. against Illinois-Chicago and will also face Murray State Friday at 6 p.m.
