Bradley Men Win Illini Open Title

The Bradley cross country teams finished strong before next weekend's Missouri Valley Conference Championship with the men's team winning the title at the Illini Open and the women finishing second.

Redshirt freshman Ben Wagoner paced the Braves with an 8K time of 25:41.7. The rookie finished sixth overall and second among attached runners in the meet as Bradley finished ahead of Indiana, Marquette and Butler in the team standings.

Brayden Huddleston was second on the team in 25:51.6 with Michael Hahndorf (26:19.9), Kerry Gschwendtner (26:28.5) and Jon May (26:36.2) rounding out the top five.

Redshirt freshman Emma Ehrhardt led the Bradley women at Illinois, racing the 5K course in 18:39.5 to place seventh overall on Friday afternoon. The host Illini took the team title, while Bradley placed ahead of Iowa, Indiana State and Marquette.

Arsinoe Del Real was second on the team in 18:55.0, while Morgan Lain (19:10.2), Ally Lampert (19:16.4) and Amelia Lesher (19:40.3) rounded out the top five.

The Braves now turn their attention toward the postseason, beginning with next weekend's Valley Championship. The Braves host the conference meet at Newman Golf Course on Saturday with a 10:30 start time.
