CHICAGO – Bradley senior hitter Erica Haslag became the 17th player in Missouri Valley Conference history to eclipse 1,600 career kills, helping the Braves (22-7, 12-5 MVC) rally from a 2-sets-to-none deficit and secure the No. 3 seed for the MVC Volleyball Championship later this month with a 5-set victory Saturday night against Loyola Chicago (15-13, 7-9) at Gentile Arena.

After dropping the first two sets 25-16 and 27-25, Bradley rallied by taking the final three sets - 25-19, 25-20 and 15-11 - for its second 5-set road win in as many nights.

Haslag was not the only Bradley player to make history Saturday night:  freshman hitter Hannah Thompson turned in her team-leading 17th double-double of the season with 12 kills and 13 digs.  On her fourth kill of the night, Thompson set the Bradley record for the most kills by a Braves freshman, finishing the night with 335 kills on the season.  Marika Giguere held the previous record for 18 years after posting 326 kills in 2000.  Meanwhile, setter Hannah Angeli eclipsed 50 assists for the fourth time this year and moved up to fifth on the school's single-season list by pushing her total to 1,311 assists on the year.

Angeli joined Thompson in the double-double column by adding 10 digs, while Rachel Pranger chipped in 12 kills.

Bradley finished the match hitting .249 overall and continued to heat up as the match wore on:  after hitting .135 in the first set and .106 in the second, the Braves hit .268 in the third, .400 in the fourth and a blistering .476 in the decisive fifth set.

With the No. 3 seed for the MVC Tournament secured, the Braves will close out the regular season Friday by hosting I-74 rival Illinois State in a 7 p.m. clash at Renaissance Coliseum.
