Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye of the Bradley men's basketball team is one of 30 candidates nationally for the 2018-19 Senior CLASS Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be a senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - classroom, character, community and competition.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in the community.

On the court, Lautier-Ogunleye has helped lead a Bradley basketball resurgence as the Braves have improved their win total from five games in 2015-16 to 20 last season. Named to the MVC All-Freshman Team in 2016 and the conference's All-Defensive Team in 2018, Lautier-Ogunleye has appeared in 103 career games in the Bradley Red & White and currently ranks third among active Valley players with 249 assists and sixth with 828 points.

In eight games during his senior campaign, Lautier-Ogunleye is averaging a career-best 9.9 points to go with 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and a field goal percentage of 52.4.

Off the court, Lautier-Ogunleye maintains a 3.19 grade point average as a marketing major. The 2018 MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team honoree is also active within the Peoria community, volunteering at organizations such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, United Way Mad Dash, Whitney's Walk, Peoria Marathon and Peoria YMCA.

The candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists in February and those names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans and the Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2019 NCAA Men's Final Four.

Lautier-Ogunleye and the Braves are back in action on Saturday, hosting New Mexico as part of the Missouri Valley Conference-Mountain West Challenge. Game time at Carver Arena is set for 7 p.m.
