Game Recap: Men's Basketball |
Little Rock, Ark. – Junior Darrell Brown scored all 18 of his points in the second half, while also reaching the 1,000-point mark, to lead the Bradley men's basketball team to a 68-62 road victory at Little Rock on Tuesday night. The Braves improve to 7-3 with the win, while the Trojans drop to 4-5.

After being held scoreless it the opening 20 minutes, Brown shot 5-of-8 from the field in the second stanza – including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc – to lead Bradley back from a six-point deficit at the intermission. The junior also became the 47th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point mark during his career with a late free throw that helped seal the win.

Senior Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye added 12 points in the victory, while sophomore Elijah Childs scored 11 points to go with three blocks.

Junior Nate Kennell led BU with six rebounds, while Brown also paced the attack with a game-high five assists.

Little Rock grabbed the early momentum and kept the Bradley offense in check to start the game. The Trojans led by as many as 13 points, 20-7, with 5:39 remaining in the period before a late BU surge closed the gap. The Braves tallied 14 points in the final 5:30 to make the game a six-point contest at the intermission, 27-21.

It didn't take long in the second half for the Braves to get the lead as the team started very strong on the offensive end. The Braves used a 17-6 spurt in the first five-plus minutes to pull ahead by five, 38-33. Childs led the run with seven points, including five in a key 22-second span that gave BU its first lead as the Bradley offense showed early that the second half was a different story.

The teams battled for the next 10 minutes with neither school grabbing more than a five-point advantage. However, with the score knotted at 53 and less than five minutes on the clock, Brown ignited a 12-0 run with his third triple of the game. Brown and Lautier-Ogunleye each had five points in the game's-defining stretch before the Braves sealed the victory with free throws late – including Brown's 1,000th-career point with 59 ticks on the clock.

Bradley shot 40.0 percent in the winning effort, including 58.6 percent in the second half – scoring a season-best 47 points after the break.

The Braves are off for more than a week before returning to action on Dec. 15 with a home game against Eastern Illinois. Game time at Carver Arena is set for 7 p.m.
