Darrell Brown Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior guard Darrell Brown (Memphis, Tenn./Germantown) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Men's Basketball to a 68-62 road win at Little Rock last week.
 
Brown scored all of his game-high 18 points in the second half, connecting on 5-of-8 field goal attempts including 3-of-5 three-pointers in the final 20 minutes.  He also tied for game-high honors with five assists as he became the 47th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points.  Brown leads the Braves in scoring at 15.4 points per game this season, while dishing out nearly four assists per outing.  A public relations major, Brown owns a 3.04 cumulative grade point average. 
 
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
 
Brown and the Bradley men's basketball team return to action Saturday, hosting Eastern Illinois in a 7 p.m. game at Carver Arena.
