The Bradley cross country teams were both recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as All-Academic Teams on Friday, while sophomore Jake Hoffert was named to the team as an individual.

The first Brave to win the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in 52 years, Hoffert crossed the finish line first overall to lead BU to its third-straight team title. The sophomore also earned NCAA All-Midwest Region accolades by placing ninth in the nine-state meet in November and then became one of four at-large selections to the NCAA Championship.

Off the cross country course, Hoffert owns a 3.74 GPA, majoring in manufacturing engineering.

In order to qualify for All-Academic honors, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.25 and finish in the top 25 (or 10 percent) at regionals.

Both the men's and women's programs were also recognized as a team. The Bradley men own a team GPA of 3.45 – ranking 25th in the country – while the BU women have a 3.43 grade point average.

The academic accolades cap another record season for the Braves as both teams claimed the Missouri Valley Conference Championship. The men won their third-straight title, while the women took title honors for the third time in four seasons.
