Women’s Golf 11th After Day One At Bradley Spring Break Invite

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Junior Brooke Thompson is tied for 16th in the field and Bradley Women's Golf sits in 11th among 16 teams after 36 holes at the Bradley Spring Break Invitational Monday.
 
The Braves are one shot out of the top 10 in the team standings and 10 back of a tie for seventh overall at 637 following the opening two rounds of play at the par-73 Brookhaven Country Club, where Bradley turned in scores of 318 and 319.  Cincinnati and Houston Baptist are tied for the team lead at 611 with Akron right behind in third at 612. 
 
Northern Illinois closed the opening day in fourth at 621, followed by Illinois State in fifth (622) and sixth-place UNC-Asheville (625).  Wichita State and South Dakota are tied for seventh (627), 10 shots better than Bradley.  Texas A&M Corpus Christi heads into Tuesday's final round in ninth at 629 and Missouri State rounds out the top 10 at 636.  The Braves are one shot back of the Bears in 11th (637) and own a one-shot lead on 12th-place UTRGV (638).  Belmont is six shots back of Bradley in 13th (643). 
 
Thompson is in the field as an individual and was the top performer for Bradley Monday, closing the first day in a tie for 16th at nine-over par 155.  She followed up an opening round 78 with a 77 in the afternoon and is two shots out of the top 10. 
 
Junior Frankie Saban rebounded from a first-round 82 to match her lowest round of the spring with a two-over 75 in the second round.  Saban is two shots back of Thompson in a tie for 32nd at 11-over par 157.
 
Senior Ally Scaccia carded a pair of 79's Monday and is tied for 37th at 158, while sophomore Taylor Ledwein had the lowest first round score among the Braves with an opening round 78.  Ledwein turned in an 82 in the afternoon to close the day at 14-over par 160 in a tie for 44th
 
Senior Grace Henderson and freshman Maddie Hawkins, who is playing as an individual, will head into the final round tied for 64th at 165.  Henderson had rounds of 79 and 86 Monday, while Hawkins fired rounds of 82 and 83. 
 
Junior Chloe Horton rounds out the team scoring for the Braves in a tie for 72nd (168), posting scores of 85 and 83 Monday.
