SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Former Bradley Baseball All-American Mike Tauchman has been named the recipient of the 15th annual Abby Greer Award as the Colorado Rockies Spring Training Most Valuable Player, according to an announcement by the Major League Baseball franchise Sunday.

Tauchman was the Joe Carter Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year and consensus All-American in 2013 when he led the nation in hitting with a modern-day Bradley Baseball record .425 batting average.  He also set the Bradley career record by drawing 108 bases on balls during his 4-year career from 2010-13.

Selected in the 10th round of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft by Colorado, Tauchman has steadily risen through the Rockies organization and made his Major League debut last season.  The 2017 Albuquerque Isotopes (Triple-A) Most Valuable Player, Tauchman played in 31 games for the Rockies last season and made the team's playoffs roster for the National League Wildcard Game versus the Arizona Diamondbacks.

In 27 spring training games to date for the Rockies this season, Tauchman is batting .345.  Leading the team with four triples, Tauchman also boasts a .586 slugging percentage and .995 OPS.  Despite a crowded outfield rotation, he remains a strong candidate to make the team's 25-man, Opening Day roster.

Tauchman remains one of three former Bradley Baseball players participating in 2018 Major League Baseball Spring Training camps.  Utility infielder Jason Leblebijian (2010-12) has appeared in 24 games for the Toronto Blue Jays this spring and is batting .250 with three doubles and a home run.  Relief pitcher Rob Scahill, a 6-year MLB veteran, continues to show well in the Chicago White Sox bullpen this spring - he is 2-0 with a save and a 3.38 ERA in eight relief appearances.
