PEORIA, IL – The Bradley baseball team earned its fifth-straight victory on Saturday afternoon with a dominant 17-0 victory against RMU-Springfield at Dozer Park. With the win, the Braves improved to 22-9 on the season.

Seven different Braves registered multiple hits in the winning effort, led by a 3-for-4 day from junior Luke Mangieri. The first baseman also added his third home run of the season with four RBI and four runs scored. Overall, the top three batters in the BU lineup were 7-for-12 on the afternoon with 10 runs scored as Nick McMurray and Jean-Francois Garon both went 2-for-4 with three runs.

The Braves scored in 5-of-6 innings at the plate to earn the victory. In the first inning, Derek Bangert doubled down the left field line to score two and the Braves never looked back. The senior would then score on an Eagles error before Andy Shadid added an RBI single for a 4-0 lead through one.

Mangieri hit his second home run in as many games in the second and the Braves then added five more in the third to ease to victory. Shadid knocked in his second run with a double before scoring on a RBI single from Keaton Rice for a 7-0 BU lead. Mangieri then added a double for two more runs before scoring himself on an error for a 10-0 Bradley advantage through three.

The Braves added four runs in the fifth and three in the sixth for the 17-0 final score.
