The Bradley men's basketball team announced the addition of Ari Boya (Douala, Cameroon) on Friday as the 7-foot-1-inch center has enrolled at the university.

Originally a member of the Class of 2019, Boya reclassified after graduating from Scotland Prep in the spring. During his time at the Pennsylvania school, Boya was coached by one of the nation's top prep coaches in the country, Chris Chaney, averaging 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6.3 blocks per game in 2017-18.

"We are excited to add another talented player in Ari," said Bradley head coach Brian Wardle. "Ari is a high-character young man with great upside. He has a passion to continuously improve on the court and is a very coachable player. Ari brings unique physical tools that you don't see very often in the Missouri Valley Conference. His size and athleticism will have a great impact in our program and we can't wait to start working with him."

The Cameroon native helped lead Scotland to a 21-2 record during the 2017-18 campaign, earning a top-10 national ranking and qualifying for the 2018 National Prep Championship. Boya collected first-team All-Mid-Atlantic Division honors in the Great Atlantic Conference after averaging a double-double at Scotland.

Boya, who also played AAU basketball with the Indiana Elite during his high school career, is the third addition to the Bradley program this summer as he joins freshman Armon Brummett and junior Chudier Bile as the newest Braves.

The trio are the newest members of a Bradley team that finished the 2017-18 season with a 20-13 record. One of just four schools in the country to improve by at least five wins in each of the last two years, the Braves earned a top-five seed for the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament and advanced to the league semifinals for the first time since 2010.
