NORMAN, Okla. -- The Bradley men's golf team was one of 127 NCAA Division I men's golf teams to earn Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) 18Birdies All-Academic Team honors, according to a recent announcement by the GCAA.

The Braves earned the award for a fourth consecutive year, which included leading the Missouri Valley Conference in grade point average in 2014-15.  One of six MVC schools to be recognized, Bradley joins Evansville as the only Valley programs to earn the distinction each of the past four years and Bradley was one of 37 teams which advanced to the 2018 NCAA Regionals recognized by the GCAA for its academic performance.

A college or university must submit the grade point averages for each player on its official squad list for the academic year in order to be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors. To qualify as an All-Academic Team, the team must have a cumulative 3.0 or better grade point average for the year.

Highlighted by a 3.56 team GPA during the Spring 2018 semester, the Braves posted a 3.42 combined GPA during the 2017-18 academic year.

Bradley had a school-record three individuals earn First-Team Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete honors in 2017-18, including Second-Team Google Cloud Academic All-American Zach Jewell.  Joining Jewell as MVC Scholar-Athletes were 2018 MVC Championship individual medalist Drake Bushong and All-Valley performer Michael Mounce as the trio helped lead the Braves to their first MVC team title.

Individually, 10 of the 11 Braves on the 2017-18 roster landed on the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll in at least one of the two semesters for registering a GPA of 3.30 or higher in 2017-18 including five individuals earning the distinction in both semesters.

Five individuals had at least one semester with a perfect 4.00 grade point average with Mounce and Daniel Lensing both boasting 4.00 GPA's in both the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 terms.
